Hemingway Avenue, Short Beach Road, Shore Drive

Eastern Terminus: West Main Street (US 1) in Branford

CT 142 is an east/west route that runs between East Haven and Branford. CT 142 is a loop off of US 1, running to the south of it. The first section, Hemingway Avenue, begins at Saltonstall Parkway (US 1) in East Haven. It runs south as a four-lane road to the eastern terminus of CT 337. CT 142 then turns to the east. This section has two lanes and is called Short Beach Road and Shore Drive. Further to the east, it curves north again to end at West Main Street (US 1) in Branford.
