CT 162 is an east/west route that runs through the western half of southern New Haven County. It begins at Boston Post Road (US 1) in Milford and runs east through Milford, Orange, and West Haven. CT 162 runs south of US 1 and parallel to it. CT 162 takes on a number of different names throughout its length. The entire length of CT 162 is a two-lane undivided road with traffic lights, except for a short section near its interchange with the Connecticut Turnpike (I-95), where it widens to four lanes.
