Greater New York Roads

CT 82 Bridge Road, Norwich Road, Town Street, Norwich-Salem Road, East Haddam Road, Norwich-Salem Turnpike, Salem Turnpike, West Main Street

CT 82 begins at the CT 9 expressway in Chester. The first section is a super-3, a three-lane undivided highway was no at-grade intersections. There are cliffs on both sides of the road.

The highway ends at Middlesex Turnpike (CT 154). The intersection is marked by a stop sign and a flasher. Turn left to go north or turn right to go south. Eastbound CT 82 is multiplexed with northbound CT 154 for a short distance here.

A short distance to the north, CT 82 splits off from CT 154 and runs east as a two-lane undivided road. Here, it is called Bridge Road.

There is a swing bridge over the Connecticut River from Haddam to East Haddam. A swing bridge is like a drawbridge in that it moves to allow boats to pass, but it rotates above the water instead of opening and closing.

On the other side of the bridge, the road splits. Bear left for Main Street (CT 149). Bear right to stay on CT 82.

Here, CT 82 is called Norwich Road.

Norwich Road ends at Town Street. Turn right to continue east on CT 82. Turn left to go north on CT 151, which begins here.

Town Street runs south as a two-lane undivided road.
