This maps indicates which roads within the city are designated as arterial highways. It also shows a substantial number of roads that were never built, including both highways and local streets. | |
| New York State Department of Transportation Local Roads Listing (Nassau County) |
| An official listing of all roads in Nassau County that are not maintained by the state, obtained from the New York State Department of Transportation via email under the provisions of the Freedom of Information Law (FOIL). Over a thousand pages long, this document lists the names and numbers of these roads with the distance between major intersections. | |

| An official listing of all roads in the county road system for Suffolk County, obtained via fax from the Suffolk County Department of Public Works (SCDPW). Please note that the names of several roads have changed since this document was written. Also, this document includes a number of roads and sections of roads that have never been built and probably never will be. | |
