4 Avenue is a major north/south route in Brooklyn. It begins at the Belt Parkway
near the Verrazano Bridge and runs north. It ends at Flatbush Avenue, one block
north of Atlantic Avenue. The entire length is a four- to six-lane road, and
most of it is divided. It is part of a series of numbered avenues in Brooklyn
that increases numerically from west to east. 4 Avenue is the largest of
Brooklyn's numbered avenues and the only one with oversized street name signage
