Cross Island Parkway

The exit numbers on the Cross Island Parkway begin where the exit numbers on the Belt Parkway end. The first exit is exit 25A, which is for the Southern Parkway. Exit 25B is for Elmont Road and Linden Boulevard.

Belmont Racetrack may be accessed through either one of the two exits for it or through Hempstead Avenue (NY 24).

The Cross Island Parkway passes under the Port Washington branch on the Long Island Railroad. An orange sign advises motorists to use the Throgs Neck Bridge (I-295) instead of the Whitestone Bridge (I-678) due to construction, although both bridges are under construction at this time.

The parkway runs north along the water. There is a paved bicycle path that runs parallel to this section. It can be accessed via exit 32. Exit 32 is for Bell Boulevard.

The Cross Island Parkway ends at I-678. Exit 36N is for the Whitestone Bridge (I-678) north. Exit 36S is for the Whitestone Expressway (I-678) south. All traffic must use one of these two exits.
