Direction: East/West Western Terminus: Yankee Expressway (I-84) in Cheshire Eastern Terminus: I-91 and CT 66 in Meriden I-691 is a short east/west highway from the Yankee Expressway (I-84) in Cheshire to I-91 in Meriden. At its eastern terminus, it becomes CT 66. I-691 provides the most direct route from Danbury and Waterbury to New Haven and the shoreline, avoiding the need to cut north to Hartford on I-84 only to go south again on I-91.
