Town Street runs north through East Haddam as a two-lane undivided road.

There is a stop sign. Turn left onto Norwich Road to stay on CT 82.
Town Street continues straight ahead as

In East Haddam, there is a stop sign.
Main Street (CT 149)
begins on the right.

There is a swing bridge across the Connecticut River from East Haddam to
Haddam. A swing bridge is like a drawbridge in that it moves to allow
boats to pass, but it rotates above the water instead of opening and
closing.

On the other side of the river, CT 82 is called Bridge Road.

Bridge Road ends at Middlesex
Turnpike (CT 154). Turn right to go north or turn right to go
south. Westbound CT 82 is multiplexed with eastbound
CT 154 for a short
distance here.

The westernmost section of CT 82 is a super-3, a three-lane undivided
highway with no at-grade intersections. There are cliffs on both sides
of the road.

CT 82 ends at the CT 9
expressway. There is an unnumbered exit to the right for northbound
CT 9. Continue straight
ahead to go south.
