NJ 37 is an east/west route from Lakehurst through Toms River to Seaside Heights. The easternmost portion is a pair of bridges, the Thomas A. Mathis Bridge for eastbound traffic and the J. Stanley Tunney Bridge for westbound traffic, over Barnegat Bay between Toms River and Seaside Heights. The entire length of NJ 37 is a four- to six-lane divided road with traffic lights and jughandles.
