Saw Mill Parkway |
Direction: North/South
Southern Terminus: Henry Hudson Parkway at the Bronx-Westchester border
Northern Terminus: I-684 and Cross River Road (NY 35) in Bedford
The Saw Mill Parkway is a major north/south parkway in Westchester County. The
Henry Hudson Parkway changes names to become the Saw Mill Parkway at the
Bronx-Westchester border. In the southern portion of Westchester, the Saw Mill
Parkway runs parallel to and just west of the New York Thruway (I-87). In
Irvington, it crosses the Thruway. It continues to Elmsford, where it has an
interchange with the Cross Westchester Expressway (I-287). North of here, the
Saw Mill Parkway runs diagonally to the northeast. There is a major interchange
with the Taconic Parkway in Hawthorne, just north of the northern terminus of the
Sprain Parkway. The Saw Mill Parkway ends at I-684 in Bedford, where there is
also access to Cross River Road (NY 35). While most exits on the Saw Mill
Parkway are grade-separated interchanges, there are some that have traffic
lights. The parkway's full name is the Saw Mill River Parkway, because it runs
near the Saw Mill River for much of its length.
