Eastern Terminus: US 9W/US 202 at Bear Mountain
Seven Lakes Drive is a major roadway through Harriman State Park and Bear
Mountain State Park. It is named for the seven lakes that it passes inside
Harriman State Park. There is a short roadway known as Seven Lakes Road
extending from Orange Turnpike (NY 17) to the beginning of Seven Lakes Drive,
just west of the New York Thruway (I-87). Seven Lakes Drive passes under the
Thruway, but there is no interchange. It runs diagonally to the northeast
through Harriman State Park. In the northern area of the park, it meets the
Long Mountain Parkway (US 6) at a traffic circle, from which there is access
to the Palisades Parkway. Seven Lakes Drive is multiplexed with the Palisades
Parkway for one exit. It then splits off and runs east through Bear Mountain
State Park. There is access to Perkins Memorial Drive, which ascends to the top
of Bear Mountain. Seven Lakes Drive ends at US 6/US 202. Most of Seven Lakes
Drive is a two-lane undivided road.
