NY 218 is a north/south route running along the Hudson River, parallel to
US 9W, in the area of Highland Falls and Storm King. It begins at US 9W in
Highland Falls, a short distance north of the Bear Mountain Bridge (US 6/US 202).
It follows Main Street and Mountain Avenue through Highland Falls before joining
US 9W once again. NY 218 is multiplexed with US 9W for one exit. It then splits
off and becomes the Storm King Highway. There is an entrance to the United
States Military Academy at West Point from the Storm King Highway. North of the
academy, the Storm King Highway runs along the side of Storm King Mountain by the
Hudson River. It ends at US 9W in Cornwall-on-Hudson.
