NY 454 Veterans Memorial Highway


Direction: East/West
Western Terminus: Jericho Turnpike (NY 25) in Commack
Eastern Terminus: Sunrise Highway (NY 27) in Patchogue

Veterans Memorial Highway is a large divided boulevard that runs diagonally across the Long Island in central Suffolk. It begins at Jericho Turnpike (NY 25) in Commack and runs to the southeast. Shortly thereafter, there is an interchange with the Sunken Meadow Parkway. The Northern Parkway has its eastern terminus at Veterans Memorial Highway. Where the Northern Parkway ends, NY 347 begins. It is multiplexed with NY 454 along Veterans Memorial Highway for a short distance. It then splits off to become Smithtown Bypass. Immediately after the split, Veterans Memorial Highway intersects Wheeler Road (NY 111). Slightly southeast of there, there is an interchange with the Long Island Expressway (I-495). Veterans Memorial Highway ends at Sunrise Highway (NY 27) in Patchogue. It provides access to Long Island MacArthur Airport, which is located between the Long Island Expressway and Sunrise Highway.
