Frowein Road Direction: East/West Western Terminus: Montauk Highway (CR 80) in Moriches Eastern Terminus: Montauk Highway (CR 80) in East Moriches Frowein Road is a bypass of Montauk Highway (CR 80) in Center Moriches. It is a two-lane undivided road with traffic lights, and it has both of its termini at Montauk Highway. Before the section of NY 27A between Oakdale and Southampton was decommissioned in 1972, Frowein Road was designated Truck NY 27A, providing a way around a low bridge on Montauk Highway in Center Moriches.
